If you are a migraine sufferer, no doubt you feel as though there is no help out there, nothing you can do to relieve the pain caused by your migraines. However, you should know that this is not the case at all and there are some terrific options out there when it comes to a migraine headache remedy.

Whether you have a regular migraine or sinus headache migraine, here are a few ideas that will hopefully help you out.

Migraine Headache Remedy Ideas

One migraine headache remedy that you may want to try is quite simple diet modification. Just by removing a few foods from your diet and including a few others you may be able to not only relieve the pain caused by your existing migraines, but prevent future migraine attacks from occurring!

It is truly quite incredible. You need to be eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads and cereals, and drinking plenty of water, at least six to eight glasses a day. Exercise is also going to play a major role here, and so continuing on somewhat from the previously discussed migraine headache remedy, making changes to your exercise will be a great idea.

Even if you are very busy, this is not an excuse and you can easily find ways to get physically active. Whether you only have time to get out for a half hour walk each day, or have to do exercises at work in the office, all of this will be greatly to your benefit.

A more serious migraine headache remedy would be to start taking medications. You will need to have a proper diagnosis and assessment made by your doctor before being able to properly determine which medication is going to be best for you.

There are two major types of medications that are used for migraines. There are those which help pain of existing migraines and those which attempt to prevent migraines from happening. For the most part your doctor will have you taking the latter, which are better known as prophylactic medications.

These include anti-seizure drugs such as valproic acid, gabapentin, and topiramate, as well as beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers which can prevent migraine headaches from developing to start because they stabilize blood vessels to prevent the contraction/expansion cycle.

Any of these ideas would work great, and keep in mind that it may take you a bit of trial and error before you find a treatment that really works well for you.
